Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
22 years
What is your primary product or service?
Masonry Restoration of all types of buildings, monuments and masonry structures.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My great grandfather and grandfather were stone masons and completed artistic carvings for churches and monuments. I have been in the construction arena for forty years in all facets, but I love restoring buildings. Taking something that is run down and bringing it back to life is very rewarding.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our employees are trained and certified by the manufacturers of the materials that we install. We are a niche company that provides first-class services and offers warranties on or completed work five times the norm of our competitors. We work directly with the Illinois State Historical Preservation Society to give the client needing historical restoration a full turn-key service without the hassles of dealing with the rules and regulations.
Which areas do you service?
We are a nationwide company.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
My building doesn't leak and looks beautiful, please visit our other buildings and report back with your professional opinion on repairing them.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Its unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay to little. When you pay to little you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little to get a lot-it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
